Summer School Course Outcomes
NOTE: Summer School data is required beginning with the 2023-2024 school year.
NOTE: Summer School data will be utilized to:
Align between reported students on the summer school finance side and reported outcomes on the course side.
Determining number of students involved in any type of summer school.
Determining students who participated in summer school non-credit bearing instruction with a literacy focus--what were their participation rates vs. assessment outcomes in the next assessment window.
Report summer school outcomes for all students (grades KG-12) participating in Summer School courses.
Enrolled in courses after the last date of the current year school calendar and prior to the first date of the next school year calendar.

Schools have the option/choice to provide summer school outcomes for certification in the current reporting school year (JULY certification) or in the next school year (OCTOBER certification) for each course associated with an identified Indiana course code and are aligned with academic standards.
Schools opting to provide Summer School academic records in the current reporting school year must be completed by June 30th, reported, validated, verified and ready for July certification.
Schools opting to provide Summer School academic records in the following school year must have the data reported by September 30th, validated and ready for October certification.
This may include those summer school courses completed by June 30 of the prior school year.
This may include those summer school courses missed being reported in the prior school year.
Student Academic Records reporting Summer School outcomes will need to have an association to the reporting education organization. Schools cannot provide outcomes for students they do not have a relationship ‘enrollment’ identified.
IDOE will capture the association from the student school association by utilizing the corporation portion of the Ed Org ID to allow those Ed Orgs the ability to report students not enrolled in the specific school and were only enrolled for summer school reporting.
Example: Student is enrolled in middle school and data is being reported in the following school year for October certification. Student is enrolled in high school the following school year and no longer has an enrollment record at the middle school. IDOE will utilize the Corp ID to allow the reporting of the summer school outcome.
