Cohorts (Grouping): General Reporting Info
Overview:
The additional cohorts (grouping) data provided will build relationships between specific school staff and students for access to student records within Student Data Backpack. This is an enhancement feature and is not required data from schools.
Cohorts (Grouping) applies to:
Public Schools (traditional and charter)
Nonpublic schools
State Schools (Department of Correction, Indiana School for the Deaf, Indiana School for the Blind)
Cohorts (Grouping) requires following data points sent via Vendor or Template

General Reporting Info:
Cohorts (Grouping) is additional setup schools may utilize to create a relationship between specific staff and students to have access to student record data in Student Data Backpack. The creation of additional cohorts is not required.
Creation of the below cohorts are in addition to automatic Student Data Backpack access created based upon enrollment and course (schedules):

Cohorts (Grouping) is a year to year association and must be newly reported each school year.
Multiple Cohorts can be identified to a staff and/or student if those staff and students need to have an association to more than one cohort or grouping. For example:
If a student needs to be associated to a special education teacher of record and to a counselor this would require a record for each cohort identifier.
If a staff needs to be associated to different cohort identifiers such as principal’s watch list and counselor caseload or to different educational organizations under the LEA this would require a record for each cohort identifier.
