Understanding TIDE and How It Works:
TIDE is composed of two systems:
SAT System (for College Board)
Cambium TIDE System (for ILEARN/HS Bio/ IREAD)
How the SAT System Works:
Students must have an enrollment record and be in the grade 11 cohort.
No accommodations are pulled from the system, and schools must enter them directly into TIDE.
This can (also?) be done by contacting Andrew Jones (ajones@doe.in.gov) and they are uploaded to TIDE by IDOE around 3:00 pm, and always before 4:00 pm.
Note: Student Accommodations may take 24-48 hours to update in TIDE, depending on when information is entered into TIDE.
How the ILEARN / HS Bio / IREAD TIDE System Works:
ILEARN usually occurs around March 1-3rd, with a makeup week in April.
To enter a student’s accommodations, a school must have an enrollment record of “primary true”.
Accommodations must be submitted by 3:30pm on a particular day to be uploaded that evening.
Note: Demographic flag in TIDE will continue to mark the student as Special Education even if the services were terminated after December 1 count.
ILEARN TIDE Pulls a Student’s:
504 Accommodations from an SIS or template
Note: If your school utilizes PCG to send a 504, you must still enter it in an SIS or submit via template.
504 Accommodations and Multilingual Learner Accommodations from an SIS or template
If a student’s Multilingual Learner Accommodations are present with IILP, TIDE will pull them from a student's ILP.
For IREAD:
retesters (grade 4 and 5th grade) set early February and again closer to window
Schools can also add the student to TIDE
If schools see student set to retest but has CGE - they can turn off
No harm if they don’t test
BELOW IS THE ORIGINAL MESSAGE PROVIDED BY LINDA/JEFF MILKEY:
