All Calendar Templates: How to Complete Template 003
Overview:
Here are the quick instructions for utilizing Template 003 EdOrg Calendar Calendar Date.
Make sure to read the general reporting information for templates before proceeding. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in errors and/or data validation issues.
Before Beginning, Note:
All steps will be completed in Row 7, downwards.
Instructions:
1. Enter the CalendarCode.
This must be one of the CalendarCodes that was provided on Template 002, including matching casing and spacing.
2. Enter the SchoolYear for the data being submitted.
This is the current reporting school year and NOT the calendar year.
Example: If the reporting school year is 2023-2024, the school year field should be 2024.
Note: Incorrect school year provided will cause data to not be found in Data Exchange.
3. Enter the SchoolID.

4. Under Date, individually list the date of ALL Student School calendar days between the Begin/End Date of the school year.
Schools may elect to provide non-school calendar dates such as Spring Break, Winter Break, etc. however these dates will not be counted in the 180 day counts.
Note: Make sure to format the dates as “TEXT” as [MM/DD/YYYY].
5. Under CalendarEventDescriptor, write the Descriptor that matches that corresponding day.
See the blue chart below for precise wording. Remember, these Descriptors are case and space-sensitive.
Note: “Student Calendar” will be the most commonly used term as this refers to a general instructional day.

6. Under EventDuration, write the number that corresponds to the date.
It will usually be “1”.
Days with reduced instructional time due to a delay or early dismissal are still considered a duration of “1”.
7. Under EventMinutes, write the number that corresponds to the date.
This is the amount of time that students are receiving instruction in terms of Instructional Minutes.
Remember: Templates must be saved as a CSV file (with cells formatted as TEXT) inside of a Compressed Zipped Folder, in order to process correctly.
