Special Education: General Reporting Info
Overview:
The DOE-SE report the mechanism used to gather counts for state tuition–special education funding in compliance with IC 20-43-7. Report data for students that have an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Service Plan (SP) or Choice Special Education Plan for a non-public school student on the two annual count dates in December and April.
The data will be used for state tuition-special education funding as required by IC 20-43-7.
Identification of student accountability for Annual Performance Report (APR).
Information is used for federal and state reporting and monitoring under Article 7 (511 IAC 7-46).

Public schools (Traditional and Charter)
Choice Schools

General Reporting Info
Report data for the student with a disability who is receiving services for which the corporation is responsible to maintain student’s IEP (including students enrolled in another Public corporation, Non-public schools, Homeschool, Indiana School for the Deaf and Indiana School for the Blind).
Students ages 0-2 will not be counted for Special Education funding.
Students no longer requiring special education services as of count day, as determined by the case conference committee, will NOT be counted for Special Education funding.
If students transition out of the special education program and no longer have an IEP or ISP, be sure to end the Special Education record with the correct end date and reason exited.
