How to Determine Which Students to Report / Will Appear for Special Education Program Termination

Students who WOULD be reported for Special Education Termination records (and would appear) include students for whom Special Education services were terminated between July 1 and June 30th including, but not limited to, your corporation's students who:

  • are educated at C695 Indiana School for the Deaf or C460 Indiana School for the Blind at the time of termination of services.

  • are educated at an Interlocal or Joint Services Program at the time of services termination.

  • transferred from a public school or program to a Choice School AND selected the Choice School to provide special education services.

  • are parentally placed at non-public schools but your corporation/school is responsible for the IEP.

  • are testing in Summer ECA re-test window. These records will be reported in Phase II which opens in October.

  • are students who have graduated.

    • NOTE: The student’s graduate record must be submitted prior to Special Education Termination record.

  • Pursuing an HSE (High School Equivalency). Indiana requires a student to drop out of/not be enrolled in a secondary education program in order to pursue a HSE, so the student must be reported as a “dropout” for Reason Exited Code.

Students who WOULD NOT appear on the Special Education Termination record (but would still have an Special Education Program record with no exit date listed):

  • were promoted to school age (KG) special education services from prekindergarten (PK) special education services.

  • were enrolled and attending summer school beyond June 30. These students will be reported on Special Termination Record the following academic school year if services are terminated.

  • received a certificate of completion, course completion certificate, or alternate diploma if the student will be continuing in school. These students will be reported when the student leaves school.
